Dr. B. Patrick Schaefer graduated from Marquette University’s School of Dentistry in 1988 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Over time, he has received advanced training in orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, implantology, and CAD/CAM dentistry. By utilizing his multidisciplinary training, he provides a comprehensive approach to a wide variety of restorative patient cases.
Over the last 30 years, Dr. Schaefer initially designed a large group practice in Lansing, Michigan taking over for his father Doc. Schaefer. He has since developed 6 more locations, including our East Lansing office. The remaining locations include Okemos, Howell, Northville, Ann Arbor, and DeWitt.
Dr. Schaefer enjoys mentoring young dentists through their dental careers, while he focuses his skills and research on the newest advanced procedures and technology. The Schaefer Dental Group community often hosts “implant days” providing dentists from around the country opportunities to view and learn implant placement and grafting techniques. He also hosts continuing education classes in the SDG training center for all SDG team locations, dentists, and dental professionals all over the country.
Outside of the dental community, Dr. Schaefer can often be found golfing or enjoying time with his wife Gwen and their 3 beautiful dogs in Charlevoix. He also loves to visit his son and grandson in California, as well as his daughter undergoing her Dental studies out of state.
